Not going to lie but today sucked really bad. Since it was just Mike and I doing a workout, we headed up to the indoor track after 2nd period. Warmed up the usual 15 minutes, streched, etc. Todays workout was 600, 90 seconds rest, 200, 2 minutes rest, 6 sets. We started right into it and I was already dying. I felt like we going 200 pace already on the first 600, but we only came through at 34; we still picked up the pace though and finished the 600 in 1:39. The next few intervals of my workout went like this: 200 (30), 600 (1:39), 200 (30), 600 (1:41), 200 (30), 600 (1:43), 200 (30). After that 4th 600 I was about ready to call it quits. However Alydia told us the day before that if the rest after the 200 wasn't long enough, then add another 30 seconds. So thats what we did. For the 5th set I ran 1:41 and 30. I should've just stopped here but I at least had to try to do the next one. I decided just to run a 400 on the next one while Mike still ran 600. He had asked me to lead the second lap (my last lap) so that's what I did and I hit 65. I still gave myself another 90 seconds and did my last 200 in 29. But I didnt feel right about doing 200 meters less than Mike so after my last 200, I gave myself 45 seconds rest and did one more 200 at 30. Mike and I then cooled down 15 minutes and stretched. I felt like garbage about today's workout but Alydia says since we're going to start tapering this next week, I should be good to race on Friday and Saturday. I sure hope she's right.
