Today was region. With the weather being bad yesterday, every event was finals today. I warmed up with Dylan, Travis, and Nathan for the 800. We did our ususal routines and it was time to race. I didn't feel to good during my strides so I knew I would have to have a smart race. Jonny Perez took the lead as the gun went off and I got out right behind him. I knew he had just run a really hard 400 so I figured he would take it out slow. After the first 120 meters, Conner Mantz surged right by us and I moved with him. We came through at high 30 for the first 200 so we were already off to a bad start. Conner kept pushing the pace and I can't thank him enough for it. We came through at 60 for the first lap. Conner told me after the race that at this point he said we already had a really good lead on the pack. Moving down the back straight, I got a little too close to Conner and almost tripped him. I felt really bad and actually mustered up my breath to say sorry. With 200 to go, I knew it was the time to move. I surged passed Conner and gave it all I had. I started to tie up really bad with 75 to go but I was able to hold off and get my first Region win ever. I was really happy with the pr of .4 of a second and to qualify for state. My official time was 1:59.15 and to be honest I really do owe it to Conner for taking the lead and pushing the pace. Sadly Dylan and Travis both missed qualifying and it's hard to face it but they both still have next year so they'll get it for sure. The next 20 minutes were complete hell though. I was dry heaving every 10-30 seconds. It hurts so bad and I was barely able to cool down 5 minutes.

I warmed up with Alek, Travis, and Dylan because we had to race the 4X400. Travis ran a 53 for the first leg, I ran a 52 for the second leg, Dylan ran a 53 for the third leg, and Alek anchored with a 58. Adding up al the hundreths of seconds, we only ran a 3:39 which is a pr but we still took 5th and didn't qualify for state. We then cooled down 15, and then  I finished my cool down with Sarah and went 25 minutes total.

Both boys and girls took 4 place as teams so it sucks but oh well.
