Day two the Dixie Invite today. The 3200 race was set to go early in the morning at around 9:45 so it wasn't as hot as it was for the mile. This was my first 3200 race for the season so I didn't know what to expect. We did our usual warm up and it was time to race. The day before, we had gone to ross and luckily I was able to find a pair of flats in my size to race in. As the 2mile started I got out well in second but I guess Harrison had fell so the officials called us back (what is it with our team falling at the start of races?? haha). On the second start, I got out into first place, which I really wish didn't happend. I lead us throught the first lap at 71 and from there the race is a complete blur. Nobody else wanted to help me lead the race so I was stuck with the honors. I don't even train for the 3200 so this made me upset. I know we came through next couple of laps at around 2:22-23, 3:34-35, and 4:50. After that I was really hurting but still no one wanted to lead. Finally as we came through with 800 meters to go, Josh Thatcher took the lead from me but I was just to tired to go with him. Soon after Garret and Alek passed me, and then Mike. I tried to hang on the best I could and for the last lap, Mike yelled at me to go with him just like practice so I did. on the final straight, I passed him and finished 4th running a 9:40 which is a 14 second pr for me. The time is alright and I can't complain, especially since I train for the 800 and 1600 but I was just irritated that I was stuck leading it.

Notable mentions: Alek Parsons took 2nd running 9:38 for a 13 second pr, Garret Barton the freshman phenom ran 9:38 which is a 15 second pr!!! both qualified for state including Mike (9:41) and myself. Mike didn't have a good day again. Harrison Godfrey also ran pr to run 9:59!

After the 3200 I cooled down only 5 minutes because Alydia still wanted me to race the 800. As the 800 drew nearer, I felt really terrible and really didn't want to race but Alydia wouldn't let me drop out so I warmed up 5 minutes and got ready. Right when the race started I knew I was in trouble. already by the first 200 I was falling off everyone. I came through first 400 at 62 and already I was done. I kept going and finished pretty bad in dead last running a 2:12 for my final time. That was honestly on of the most excruiating races ever, but I don't care because I did run pr's in both the 1600 and 3200. I guess I'll just have to qualify for the 800 later on. I cooled down 2 miles by myself just to get it over with.

Notable Mentions: Dylan Anderson ran a 2:00 which is a 1 second pr and took 5th place, Travis Feeney ran a 4 second pr running a 2:01 placing 6h, and Nathan Child ran a pr and ran a 2:06.

This meet was pretty successful but we still have a long way to go.

Just a quick side note; All season I kept thinking that I only wanted to race the 3200 one time but after that race, I'm not sure I can stay away from it. I've run the 3200 every year since 9th grade as one of my main events and it has kind of grown on me :P I might try to run the 3200 at maybe the Davis invite or the BYU invite.... who knows? ;)

Hey it's Tanner. You guys are doing awesome! It makes me feel kinda cool to know such speedy dudes. All the guys on your team are great. Nice individual PR's. I was sad I never got to run with you guys over the summer.

Hey thanks! It's good to hear from you Tanner! There's always next summer that you could run with the guys! I might hang around a bit a run with them for a bit so who knows what'll happen!
